murder on the dock of the bay

Murder on the dock of the bay:
By: The Old Man 1/2/2006.

Where in the world would be the best place to commit a murder? No I’m not being murderous nor am I trying to set your thinking in motion along these lines. So don’t try it, or you’ll end up in prison and even get the death penalty. Murder at any time is a No, no, by God’s standards and by every ones else’s. What I am talking about is the use we put our docks of the bay to. Looking at how docks are traditionally used, many of us have been to our local city near the coast we will almost always come across short and long versions and the many types of ocean going small boats and large boats, and small sailing ships and large sailing ships in the boating marine’s . Plus if we live in a large city where shipping from other countries come into the harbour all of the time, and in times past, then these docks will be very long indeed to accommodate for their convenience.

So that they can unload their cargoes. Normally these days such cargoes that are unloaded are things like, oil, wheat, farm equipment, cows and sheep, and so on. Then we make use of them for ferrying people from side of the harbour to the other and from part of the continent to another part or island close to the outer coastal region of the mainland. These ferry’s always vary in size shape and needs. Especially for the ferrying of people and the cars and trucks over to an outer Island such as from Melbourne to Tasmania.

Then of course there is the humble beach dock along the coast line and in our river systems where people can dive off of them and go swimming with relative safety for the whole family. Plus the ones where we can go for a quiet days fishing just for fun. The fish are a secondary issue to most fishermen and their families. Even when the dock of the bay appearance appears to be in a rather shabby and run down state. Each dock of the bay in our lives has a lot of wonderful and fond memories attached to them.

I wonder what your is?

There I suppose a story of how people murder our docks of the bay with constant neglect and abuse. And for these we have to restrain as much as possible, and where necessary arrest and put in prison. But if we can murder our docks of the bay, how can we have committed murder on them. What type of friendships have been destroyed on the docks of our bays? What bright and wonderful lives have been created on the docks of our bays? Where is your dock of the bay? Is it in Alaska, or the Antarctic, or in Canada or in Scotland or in other cold regions?

Did your life begin or end on the dock of the bay? Have you created music or a movie or a book or build an empire on the dock of the bay? Have you used the dock for piracy or for building a nation? What have you done to make the dock of the bay a living monument to you and to the people around you and to the rest of the people who use it on a regular basis? Who have you saved from drowning from the dock of the bay? Who ahs saved you from drowning from the dock of the bay? What industries have been born from the use of the dock of the bay?

I think that tree logging and wood factories was one such industry that developed from the dock of the bay. What dreams have you had on the dock of your bay? What has it done to you? Has it made you happier, or sadder? Has it helped clean the cobwebs of doubt and worry away from your soul? Have you started up rowing and canoeing clubs from the dock of the bay? Or have you created boat building clubs and fishing clubs and sailing clubs, and long voyage clubs or voyages from the dock of the bay? How many people do you know personally that loves being on the dock of the bay? Have any schools and camps started up on the shores next to the dock of the bay?

I can say that I have done a lot of swimming and diving from the docks of the bay where ever I can find one to do so. Its great stuff, as long as it is safe from either the river creatures and the sea creatures which can cause serious injuries or death to us all. I know of at least one place where a whole township was created out of nothing simply because of the dock of the bay, here in Melbourne, by a well known golfing legend. The many uses that have come from a single dock of the bay in any country and Island has brought huge amounts of people and industry and cities and nations into being.

There is an enormous amount of sea life that just loves to cling to and play on and live on the typical dock of the bay. Here in Melbourne harbour we have penguins. And in other countries the have sea lions, and otter and penguins as well. Even sharks and sea crustaceans glue them selves to the pylons of the docks of the bay. Again and again our docks of the bay provide all of our daily needs most of the times, especially for quiet and relaxation and family outings and other social activities. Some of our more daring men, women and children even do wind surfing from them scuba diving from them. It is amazing how versatile a dock of the bay is in any community, town, village and city.

Even boat races have been started and finished at the dock of the bay. Some of us have even been known to build our homes made into floating barge home type of homes and moor steadily at the dock of the bay. It is their home address and they love it, and why not? So at high tide and low tide, always look favourably on our docks of the bay, and learn how to treat them properly, for who knows it may be your only way to escape from your friends as well as your enemies. So don’t do any thing like murder on the docks of our bays. Use them for good and not for evil. For families and friendships and hobbies and interests such as painting and sailing and picnics. Don’t abuse them, they don’t do anyone any harm.

When you can, become involved in the restoration of one near you, rather than trying to destroy them. Let me know when you find one you want restoring or have a good story to tell about, or when your next gong to use it for that best seller novel, or from which one you will be sailing away from on your latest career move, and even on the one where you will going home from and arriving at?

A for me, well, I like to go out as often as I can, so take it easy and paint me a picture or take a picture of your favourite dock of the bay. Here is one that I like. But then I have not travelled all over Australia as yet, and maybe one day I will. Do you know of any good spots that we can met up at? I am certain to like meeting up with you in my travels, so if you are good at making a decent brew of tea or coffee and can put on a decent meal, let me know, as I am always willing to met new people and make new friends. Do you happen to have a favourite sea food dish (meal, and not crockery, smile…)? If so how do you prepare it and cook it? What about your wife and children? Do they know of any good spots close to a dock in the bay? Do you live on an Island? Do you do any sailing or fishing, or canoeing? Well I guess I will be seeing you later. Cheerio for now.
